The purpose of Tar Heel Talks is to bring the power of mentors to anyone with an internet connection. Some of the greatest mentors that have influenced my life are people I've never met, but I've read their books, listened to their podcasts, and studied what made them great. My hope is that these interviews will inspire others to contribute greatness to the state of North Carolina
Each episode features leaders with North Carolina ties in business, education, and politics. We dive deep into what made them successful and discuss their philosophies on how others can become great.
This journey isn't just about helping others, I selfishly have a passion for asking questions and want to learn from the best. Intermittently I will write a blog post where I share the lessons I learned through my conversations with guests. On occasion I'll also opine on current events and stories from my own life that others may find useful.
This website will function way better as a community. If there's ever any questions you have for me or the guests please reach out and I'd be more than happy to speak with you!

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Class of 2017
I've made it a goal of mine to always have a job. I great up washing cars in my father's car dealership and worked as a bus boy washing tables before college.
Once I got to University I had an internship every summer including the Charlotte Hornets, IBM, and a European Investment Bank on Wall Street.
Currently I'm working in my favorite city and state in the world, Charlotte, North Carolina as a Corporate Banking Analyst. This experience has been wonderful and I get to learn the ins and outs of the most important companies in the world.
Here are my top 3 proudest accomplishments:
- Lost 100 pounds in under a year
- Went from failing High School Algebra to graduating with Honors from one of the top public universities in the world
- Captain of a football team that broke a NC record 38 game losing streak and went to the playoffs for the first time in 8 years
Each of these accomplishments wouldn't have been possible without some truly great people in my life, which is why I want others to experience the power of mentorship.
